Platte County! The Place,The People and My Home, Platte County is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Growth is knocking at our doorstep. How we handle this growth in the next ten years is important to keeping Platte County the place we all chose to live. Good urban and rural planning is what needs to be to be put in place to protect our neighborhoods and our environment. Looking at new ways of development that offers more green space, parkland and pedestrian connectivity is what people want as we all look to protect our quality of life. As Mayor of Parkville for the last four years I look at the quality of development that we have approved for our City. As a 1st District Commissioner I will continue to work to build consensus and ensure that Platte County growth does not change our quality of life. For the last four years I have been representing Platte County by serving on MARC boards. I have gained respect from leaders throughout the metropolitan area. Becoming part of the transportation process for the region has aided in the funds needed for the widening of 45 Highway. I will continue to work as Commissioner to ensure the widening of 45 hwy to I-435 and beyond. I will work to improve East-West connections in Southern Platte County so that all traffic burdens should not be placed on 45 Hwy. As 1st District Commissioner for Platte County, I will work full-time for you. Full-time pay demands a full-time commissioner. I have served Parkville for 11 years, please give me the opportunity to serve as your Commissioner for Platte County.
